It’s been too long since I’ve baked a Croatian treat! One of the things I love most about Croatian desserts is the layering – you’ll find that so many of these desserts are delicately layered, beautiful bars and some are airy and creamy. Today I’m baking Ledene Kocke which is known as Chocolate Ice Squares. Continue reading “Croatian Chocolate Ice Squares (Ledene Kocke)”

French Macarons
As I mentioned in my Chocolate Soufflé post, my intentions in 2017 are to bake things I’ve never attempted before… recipes that take true patience and presence… like French Macarons!
In Chicago, there are cute little Macaron shops all over the city showcasing unique flavor combinations and pretty pastel colors. I’m sure they are a big hit during Valentine’s Day! But rather than swinging by to pick some up, I of course want to bake some of my own for my Valentine’s. Continue reading “French Macarons”
Shortbread Cookies
There’s just something so fun about decorating sweet treats with fun colors, sprinkles and glitter! What better time to do so than Valentine’s day!
I have the sweetest Valentine’s of them all (Aaron & Zoey), but this year Valentine’s day is becoming so much more to me than celebrating my love for my husband and pup. Continue reading “Shortbread Cookies”
Bauli Cake Bread Pudding with Lemon Curd
My fellow blogging buddy Annie, of Give Me Meatloaf, provided great advice and tips as I began to explore developing my own, long-awaited baking blog. Being that I’m new to the blogging world, she’s been happy to answer questions and share her own experiences that have really helped me so far! Recently, Annie’s family friend gifted her a bunch of wonderful Bauli products for Christmas that she shared with me to get creative with on my own blog, which was super thoughtful – thanks Annie! 🙂
When she gave me these mini cakes, the first thing I thought of was “0mg, I can do so many fun decorating things with these”, then I thought “these would make for an awesome bread pudding dessert too”. Continue reading “Bauli Cake Bread Pudding with Lemon Curd”
Chocolate Soufflé

I expected this to be much more difficult and time consuming, but it was actually super quick and relatively easy. One of Aaron and I’s favorite desserts to order together when we go out to eat are molten lava cakes/soufflés…they are chocolate heaven, so I decided to create something similar for us to share together today.
