In 2017, my new baking intentions are to try things I’ve never baked before. I have been wanting to make a chocolate soufflé FOREVER – and today I finally did! I expected this to be much more difficult and time consuming, but it was actually super quick and relatively easy. One of Aaron and I’s favorite desserts to order together when we go out to eat are molten lava cakes/soufflés…they are chocolate heaven, so I decided to create something similar for us to share together today. Croatian Christmas Cookies!
It’s my favorite baking day of the year – the day that we bake our Croatian Christmas cookies!!! You may have read in my “About Me” section that this is a very important tradition on my Mom’s side of the family, and this is very near and dear to my heart. Since I was a little girl, Mom and I would head over to Grandma’s house, and we would spend the day baking these recipes that the women in my family brought over from Croatia. The recipes are found in countless, handwritten books in Croatian. Continue reading “Croatian Christmas Cookies!”
Tea Time Tassies (Pecan Tassies)
It’s that time of year… the time to bake our Croatian Christmas cookies! Each year, we toss in a few traditional cookies in the mix, such as Tea Time Tassies – also known as Pecan Tassies. These happen to be my personal favorite because I love the buttery, creamy-cheese flakey crust combined with the sweet, nutty Pecan filling. These tasty little cups are super easy to make, but take a little bit of time in order to mold the cups for the filling – especially when you make between 48-64 like we do! New York-Style Cheesecake
Potlucks are my favorite, and whenever we have them at the office, I typically jump at the opportunity to bring in a tasty dessert! This week we’ll be having a huge Thanksgiving potluck which I’m super excited about – nothing is better than a Thanksgiving meal, and the more you have them, the better!
This is the perfect time of year for Cheesecake as the temps cool outside and we begin to cozy up inside. I knew instantly that I’d be making a phone call to Mom to snag her perfect New York Style Cheesecake recipe, especially since I’ve never made one for myself before. Harry Potter Butterbeer Cookies
I have a decent list of movies that I’m completely obsessed with: National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, Home Alone 1 & 2, Elf, Father of the Bride 1 & 2, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, and of course ALL Harry Potter movies! I love Harry Potter so much, that my work family threw me a Harry Potter-themed wedding shower, and yes, I do own the Lost Diadem of Ravenclaw and sometimes I wear it around the house. I never miss a marathon (thank you FreeForm)… being kind of a home-body, I just love to snuggle up on my cozy couch with a fire, candles & HARRY POTTER! This may be my first Harry Potter-themed post, but I promise you it won’t be my last 😉 Continue reading “Harry Potter Butterbeer Cookies”
